Photo Text Recognition Application

I developed a mobile application that recognizes text in photos using AI. It supports multiple languages, including Korean, English, Chinese, and Japanese. Currently, I have focused only on the technology to capture text and have not worked on the frontend. I plan to work on it when I have a concrete idea about how to develop this technology into a specific app.

I have successfully developed it for both Android and iOS. In this article, I will explain using the iOS mobile app version. The only slight differences are in aspects like the camera call-up; otherwise, most of the output is the same.

When '촬영하기' is clicked on the screen, the camera is called.

The camera called is the default iOS camera app.

Pressing the shoot button allows you to view the photo.

Pressing the 'Use Photo' button makes the AI analyze the photo and return the text.

You can see that it accurately returns all the text from a book.

The app could be developed for the visually impaired or evolved to translate documents. I hope it develops into an app that enriches people's lives. As a developer, it would be a very cool and rewarding experience if my program brings happiness to its users.
